Denver Trade Show Magician – Get Crowds to Your Booth

By April 11, 2019November 8th, 2019No Comments

In addition to performing a stage show and close-up magic, I travel across the country performing at trade shows. Clients hire me to build crowds at their booths, educate audiences about their products, and get them to talk with their team members.

The above video was taken at a recent trade show in Washington D.C. This video shows the last part of my presentation and focuses on how I engage attendees and welcome them into booth. Here is a breakdown of what’s taking place behind the scenes and why it works so well.

A Breakdown of the Trade Show Presentation

First, you will notice that I hook the audience with the promise of teaching them a trick once I finish the magic show. This keeps the audience interested and stops them from leaving. I fulfill this promise at the end by giving away a three card monte trick that is branded with the company logo. Attendees can quickly learn this trick and perform it for their friends. This helps to spread the word about the magic in our booth.

About halfway through the video, you’ll see a team member walk around the crowd and scan the attendees’ badges. We implemented this strategy to add attendees who stopped into our nurturing program. After the attendees stepped inside the booth, team members further qualified the leads and took additional information.

I finish the presentation by explaining that everyone is a winner when they work with my client. This promotes goodwill and gets a few laughs. I then invite everyone into the booth to get the trick and also point out where specific instruments are located. Once the attendees start to enter, team members are ready to talk and learn more about their specific needs. They also hand out the three card monte tricks and whatever other giveaways they have to offer.

At the end of the video, you’ll see that people gather around me to learn more about my role within the company. If you listen carefully, you’ll hear a gentleman say that magic is a great idea for the booth. I chat with these attendees and walk with them into the booth to give them the trick. I usually talk with as many people as I can to hold them there until a team member frees up and is able to talk with them.

As you can see, magic presentations are an incredible way to build a crowd, break the ice, get everyone in good spirits, and get them to come into your booth. The best part is that they already feel like they know us and are ready to have a conversation.

Here is what John DiMare from Agilent says about my presentations:

We had William at one of our largest trade shows. He attracted such a crowd at our booth and really entertained the people. I wholeheartedly recommend him for your next trade show.

P.S. Check out all of the smiles from the attendees. This is one of the many reasons I love being a trade show magician.
