Artisan Tarot – New Linocut Print of Le Bateleur

By February 12, 2021July 11th, 2021No Comments

I hope your year is off to a fantastic start. Since the beginning of the pandemic, I’ve been working on my new company Artisan Tarot. We produce tarot related products for performers and readers.

I’ve teamed up with artist Krisztin Kondor to release our first project which is a restoration of the Nicolas Conver Tarot from 1760. We’ve already had a successful release of our tarot cards and lapel pins. Now, Krisztin has created a beautiful linocut print of Le Bateleur. In English decks, this card is The Magician.

Krisztin has spent over 100 hours producing the print. This includes carving the linosheets, mixing the colors, and pressing the artwork. Click here to watch her print the black lines to complete Le Bateleur.

The printing process takes a week due to the complexity of the design and colors. The colors are printed individually from 7 linosheets. It takes a day to print each color as the paint has to dry before the next color is added. This insures that the lines are crisp and precise.

This is a limited release of 25 prints. Only 5 remain from our initial run. Due to the time consuming printing process, it will be several months before our next batch.

The artwork is on A3 archival paper. Each print is numbered and signed.

When you order now, we will include our two special edition decks.

In the next few weeks, we will release a pocket size edition of our 22 major arcana.

I’ll see you in my next post!
