In October, I performed walk-around magic for 1stdibs in downtown Denver. 1stdibs began in 2001 as a marketplace for luxury goods and is now the go to place to to find treasures from around the world. The event was hosted at LeRoux which was the perfect size for 120 people to socialize.
1stdibs asked me to perform walk-around magic during their cocktail hour. Their goal was to make the evening fun as they met with Denver designers and architects. To make the evening more memorable, they created custom playing cards that featured their products. I performed magic with their cards as I highlighted their featured products. At the end of the evening, 1stdibs gave away the custom decks to attendees.
In a future post, I will discuss custom items that you can get printed to further enhance your message during my magic performances.
This was one of my favorite shows to perform to date. I enjoy learning about design and architecture, so it was fun meeting experts in these fields. Everyone was friendly and they even taught me about the history of some of the pieces.
When I performed with Crystal Cruises, I visited Designmuseum Denmark in Copenhagen and Alvar Aalto’s house and workshop in Helsinki. It was cool that many of the pieces found in these museums can be purchased through 1stdibs and were featured on the playing cards.
I would love perform magic at your next event. Get in touch and let me know how you’d like to worth together. You can send me an email at william@williamrader.com or click the link below to get in touch.
