Beam Suntory recently invited me to entertain with mentalism at their annual planning meeting. As you probably know, Beam Suntory produces fine whiskey such as Jim Beam, Maker’s Mark, and Knob Creek. They held their event at the Broadmoor in Colorado Springs which is a Forbes Five-Star and AAA Five-Diamond resort. I always enjoy performing mentalism at the Broadmoor. Their banquet rooms are beautiful, the food is exceptional, and the staff are friendly and accommodating.
I met up with Scott about an hour before showtime to set up the room. Luckily, my show packs small, so we didn’t need a lot of time to prepare. We moved a podium off the stage, turned off a projector, and changed the lighting to better illuminate the stage. I also did a mic check to make sure the levels were correct. After lunch, guests came back into the room and I performed my 45 minute mentalism show. I entertained with the same material that I’ve honed through hours of performances at the Denver Magic Show. I sent and received thoughts from audience members, demonstrated how they can achieve their goals, and taught them how to become human lie detectors.
